Terry Elliott age 69 of Fredericksburg, IA, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2014, at Peace United Church of Christ, Fredericksburg with Pastor Burt Williams officiating. Yvonne Lineau will be the organist accompanying the congregation with Keith Kreun leading the hymns. Vocalists will be Shelly Mohling and Daryl Kuehner along with Peace Church Choir and Fusion members. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg with Kevin Korman, Kurt Weidemann, Gerald Miner, Pat Pleggenkuhle, Marshall Reed and Trevor Pagel as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Schult, Todd Warnke, Mark Leichtman, Paul Pleggenkuhle, Tony Pleggenkuhle and Ricky Pleggenkuhle. Friends may greet the family 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Terry Edward Elliott was born December 29, 1944, in New Hampton, IA, the son of Glen Robert and Mildred Louise (Small) Elliott. Terry attended country school through the fourth grade and continued his education through the Fredericksburg Community School District. He was a 1962 Fredericksburg High School graduate. While in school he enjoyed football. He also spent time hanging with his buddies at the DX Station and Scott's Truck Stop. Others would refer to Terry and his buddies as the Rebel Rousers. They spent many Friday and Saturday nights at Spillville ballroom and Waucoma. On June 22, 1962, at Peace United Church of Christ, in Fredericksburg Terry was united in marriage to Faye Ellen Flansche. They had first met in 1958 at a 'sock hop' and would spend over 52 years of marriage together. The couple spent their married life in the Fredericksburg area where they were blessed with four children. During this time of his life he enjoyed fishing in Canada and deer hunting in December with his friends. Terry's first job out of high school was at Oliver Tractor in Charles City. His carpentry skills began at Great Plains Lumber in New Hampton in the early 70's. Bob Elliott and Dewey Miner purchased the lumber yard in Sumner from the Heyer brothers and hired their brothers Terry and Gerald. It became E & M Lumber where Terry devoted his time, knowledge and expertise for over 43 years. Terry received the Iowa Lumber Dealer of the Year in February 2014. He was selflessly involved in his community donating his time and talents at Peace Church serving on the Church Council and many other committees for the church and community. He belonged to the Jaycees, Lions, The Iowa Lumberman Association and Plum Creek Golf Course. Terry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Faye; four children, Vickie Elliott (Tom Schmitt) of Hudson, IA, Kirk (Kathleen) Elliott and their children Stephanie, Sean, Emily and Olivia of McHenry, IL, Kent (Teresa) Elliott and their children Elizabeth and Nickolas of Norcross, GA, Nicole Mooney (Rob Cutts) and her children Carson and Kyla Mooney of West Salem, WI; three brothers, Robert (Susan) Elliott of Sumner, IA, Larry (Donna) Elliott of Ft. Collions, CO and Tom (Susan) Elliott of Valparaiso, IN; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Mildred Elliott.

We send our Sympathy from LasVegas ..Faye,Vickie,Kirk,Kent and Nicki…please know you are in our thoughts and prayers…we had so much fun camping..I remember the kids would line up their little chairs on Sunday morning , under a big tree , by a stream and Terry would have Sunday School…lots and lots of fun memories…Terry was a wonderful friend and classmate.   10. So sorry for your loss. I went to school with Terrys children. He raised such nice children. Terry himself was a great man. I always loved talking to him while he was at work. He would also go out to eat lunch at the bowling alley in Sumner and I worked out there. We had good talks and good memories. I will never forget him. He will be deeply missed by many. R.I.P. Terry!!!!
