Our Cremation Safeguards

Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory follows a meticulous, documented cremation process so families can have complete confidence. Because we own and operate our own on-site crematory, your loved one never leaves our care and is never transported to a third-party facility. We verify identification at every step, require proper authorization before any cremation, perform each cremation individually, and track your loved one throughout the entire process. Every step is handled with the same care and attention we would want for our own family. Call (641) 394-4334 with any question about our safeguards.

Our Standards of Excellence

1) Your Loved One Matters to Us

While every funeral home offers cremation services, you can rest assured knowing we have created a meticulous process for managing every detail of a cremation. Every step is done with the same care and attention we would want our own family members to receive.

2) Tracking System

Every step of your loved one’s care is documented in our tracking system and they will be assigned a unique identification number, which is stamped into a stainless steel identification disc. This number is used to track every phase of the cremation process. Our tracking system includes date and time of arrival at our facility and name of the transfer technician. Personal belongings are cataloged and placed in a secure area for their return to the family.

3) Authorizations

State law requires completion of authorization forms which we will provide to you and help you complete. In addition, we will see to it that all permits and paperwork are completed prior to cremation taking place.

4) Our Cremation Process

Our crematory provider is local and owned and operated by Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory. This is to ensure that your loved one never leaves our care.

5) Transfer Back To You

When the cremated remains are transferred back your family, the metal identification tag will be included inside the urn so that it will never be lost. The number on the tag will be part of our company’s record keeping archive.
