Priscilla Betsinger
December 21, 1947 ~ September 19, 2021
Priscilla Betsinger, age 73 of Nashua, Iowa died Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the Waverly Health Center.
Friends may greet the family from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory - Olson Chapel in Nashua.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Priscilla Mary Betsinger was born on December 21, 1947, in Charles City to Robert and Mary (Chandler) White, and she grew up in Nashua, where she attended school and was a member of the Class of 1966 at Nashua High School.
After graduating from high school, she attended business school in Mankato, Minnesota, and when she returned to Nashua, she married Clinton “Butch” Betsinger, whom she had met in high school, on June 10, 1967, at the United Methodist Church in Nashua.
The Betsingers had three children — Michelle, Doug, and Randy — who grew up with a mother who gave them unconditional love. She was Michelle’s Girl Scout leader, helped all of her children with various projects, and knew that the greatest gift she could give them was her time.
Priscilla was super crafty and loved completing creative projects. She was a talented seamstress who made her wedding dress and the dresses for all her bridesmaids, and for years, she made clothes for her kids. She also had a knack for crocheting, making beautiful blankets, afghans, and doilies. She loved tending to her flower gardens, and she made beautiful Christmas decorations.
She was a homemaker for many years before taking a job at the Nashua Pharmacy, and she also worked as the church secretary of the Methodist Church, in the business office at McDonald’s in Charles City and was the jewelry manager at K-Mart in Charles City and then the Waverly Wal-Mart before she retired.
Priscilla adored her seven grandchildren — Alec, Marcus, and Abby Hill; Dalton and Chase Betsinger; and Alissa and Cole Bestinger. They will always remember their grandmother’s chocolate brownies, which were simply the best, and there was no better day for Priscilla than those in which she babysat her grandchildren.
She loved to read and she enjoyed taking her water aerobics classes at the YMCA in Charles City, but Priscilla also found time to volunteer for a number of organizations in and around Nashua. She willingly gave her talents and time to Treasures and the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City and to the Gateway to Northeast Iowa Welcome Center in Nashua.
Priscilla, in short, was a gentle and kind soul, and everybody she met was her friend. She will be dearly missed by her husband of more than 54 years, her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate to have had their lives touched by this woman who cared about everyone.
Priscilla is survived by her husband, Butch of Nashua; her three children, Michelle (Rich) Hill of Schaumburg, Illinois, Doug (Lisa) Betsinger of Nashua, and Randy (James) Betsinger of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert White Jr.; and one grandson, Marcus Hill.

Priscilla lived up the street from me when I grew up. She used to babysit me & my brothers. She was always so kind & sweet with a million dollar smile to warm your heart. I always looked forward to her coming to the house! I know you are with your loved ones now & flying with the angels. 👼
I was talking to a couple of our classmates today 9/10/22 about the reunion dinner tonight which I am unable to attend due to health problems and they told me about this. This was the first I head about it. Sorry for your loss and may she rest in peace.
