Mildred E. Lore age 86 of Nashua died Monday, April 8, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua, with Rev. Paul Pickar presiding. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua with Brandon Harvey, Jeff Anderson, Tim Barnard, Jonathan Lore, John Patterson, and Isaac Alexander serving as pallbearers. Following the graveside service friends and family are invited to a luncheon at the United Church of Christ, Ionia. Friends may greet the family 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Hugeback- Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mildred Evelyn Lore was born June 5, 1926, in rural Chickasaw County, the daughter of Charlie and Alma (Thompson) Lampson. She attended the Brown Country School and the Ionia Public High School. After school Mildred worked in Charles City at a drugstore/ soda shop. She was married to Clayton Lore at The Little Brown Church on April 7, 1946. To this union three children were born. The couple lived and worked on the family farm. Mildred was always helping on the farm whether it was milking cows, bailing hay, picking rock, or anything else that needed done. She enjoyed gardening and had a large patch of strawberries and melons. She would sell her produce from the house. Mildred enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, and fishing. She cherished spending time with her children and all of her grandkids. She was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Ionia working church suppers and helping anyway she could. Mildred is survived by two sons, Charles (Elaine) Lore of Decorah, IA, Gary (Joan) Lore of Nashua, IA; one daughter, Joye (Harold) Lore-Lawson of Bloomfield, IA; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, three brothers, John Lampson of Charles City, IA, Wendell Lampson of Ionia, IA, Glen Huffman of Evansdale, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clayton (1998); four brothers, Harold Huffman, Harvey Huffman, Charles Lampson, Russell Lampson; two sisters, Nina Smith and Ethel Diesburg. Memorials may be directed towards The University of Iowa Children's Hospital Dance Marathon.
