Luella P. Parks, Age 90, of New Hampton died on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at New Hampton Nursing & Rehab Center in New Hampton, IA.
Luella Pauline Georgia Katz was born on October 14, 1917 to Henry and Lillian (Stauffacker) Katz in New Hampton, IA. Luella attended school in New Hampton. She was united in marriage to Thomas Parks on September 8, 1934 in Minnesota. The couple resided in New Hampton after living and farming near Fredericksburg for many years.
Luella enjoyed reading, embroidering, gardening and cooking for her grandchildren and family.
Luella is survived by three daughters Joan (Raymond) Ball, Claudia Schueller and Doris (Chester) Finnegan all of New Hampton; grandchildren Valerie Ball, Tom Ball, Ben, Mark, Julie and Matt Beckman, Brenda Parks, Rhonda McCumber, Denise Sinwell, Diane Murphy and Deb Rosendahl; 30 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; brother Floyd (Genevieve) Katz of Milwaukee, WI and daughter-in-law Gloria Parks of New Hampton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas (1990); son Donald Parks; sister Beverly Breitbach;and granddaughter Susan Ball.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton.
Visitation:
Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00PM on Friday, September 19, 2008 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton.
Service:
Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, September 19, 2008 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton with Pastor Marshall Monthei officiating.

My sympathies on the death of Luella. We enjoyed reading “Little Heathens”- stories of the farm during the 30s. She also liked “Pieces of My Mind” by Andy Rooney. Sorry I was unable to attend her visitation. Sincerely, Marge TeKippe
