Wayne David Uglum age 66 died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in his beloved state of Hawaii Wayne's ashes will be spread on the Kona Coast of the big island of Hawaii. Wayne David Uglum was born July 14, 1951, in New Hampton, IA, the son of Pierce and Lucy (Newport) Uglum. He attended school in New Hampton, graduating in 1969. After school Wayne and a buddy took off on a whim for adventure to Hawaii. The friend came back home, but Wayne spent his entire life in Hawaii. He was a jack of all trades, spending time in the construction field, and worked with explosives for demolition purposes. He was willing to work on just about anything. Wayne had four children Nathan, David, James and Zoe with three different women. Wayne loved the ocean and spent as much time there as he possibly could swimming, snorkeling to the reef, or just enjoying all the natural beauty the ocean and coastline had to offer. He had a love for music and was in several rock and roll bands throughout his life. He loved to play and sing as often as possible. Wayne had a unconditional love for his children and was a devoted parent. Spending time attending their events, being involved in their lives, and spending as much quality time with them as possible. Family was the most important thing to Wayne. Wayne is survived by three sons, Nathan Uglum of Hawaii, Dave Uglum of Oregon, James Uglum of Hawaii; one daughter, Zoe Uglum of Hawaii; three grandchildren; one brother, Glen (Marlys) Uglum of New Hampton, IA; one sister, Paula (Roger) Webb of New Hampton, IA; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Longhorn.
