Guestbook

  1. Jerry and Virgil, Sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. I just remember her as a very hard worker (could almost keep up with the guys) and one year she had a birthday party for herself and me because her birthday was Aug. also, close to mine. She’ll be missed. Janette Hoy Payne

  2. So sorry to hear of the passing of Virginia. I have many happy memories of being her neighbor & friend. Remembering always the nickname ‘Happy’ that the Hoy family gave me. My thoughts are with you. Jim Bilharz

  3. I am so sad that I cannot be with you during this time of sorrow. But I want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Aunt Virginia was very special and her memory always brings many sweet thoughts to mind. Virginia loved things of the past such as antiques, photos and family memorabilia. I loved to talk to her about family history and was so pleased when she decided to ask me to type up her biography. She did a great job and I learned so much about our family from her. Our yearly get-togethers with Virginia and her sister Della were so special. She always made the most delicious monkey bread and had coffee ready when we arrived. Then we would drive to Waterloo to visit Della. Virginia loved music and dancing and she always enjoyed a good polka or sing- along as Della played her piano or organ. What wonderful times! Thanks Virgil, Jerry, Judy and all her grandchildren, for the many times you prepared and shared special events that brought friends and family together to celebrate with Virginia. We were blessed to have had so many wonderful years and memories of her. May you find comfort and peace in knowing our thoughts and prayers are with you. Petey and David

  4. Virgil and Jerry, I am so sad to hear of Virginia’s passing. I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed knowing her. I loved her hard working, spunky style! I will miss visiting with her and waiting on her here at the FSA office, but most of all I will miss seeing her in the neighborhood and having a chance that she would stop by the cabin…..You were so lucky to have her for so long and she will be missed terribly. It makes me smile just to think of her.

  5. My deepest sympathy to the Hoy family. So many memories of the good ole days of square dancing at Maple Grove, 4-H, picking strawberries. My husband brought an old dresser from Virginia for my birthday a long time ago. I cherish it today just like I did when he gave it to me. Mary Mooberry (Bouillon)

  6. Our sympathy to the Hoy family. I have known Virginia and her family for many years. She was a very nice lady, a hard worker and I remember her always having a smile. Will always think of her when I see geese as the Hoys have had geese for a long time. God Bless all of you!
