Vera Bunston

Vera E. Bunston age 85 of rural Ionia, IA, passed away July 3, 2019 at Valley View Nursing Home in Greene, IA. A private family service will take place at a later date. Vera E. Caster, the daughter of Ross and Clara (Crooks) Caster, was born on April 15, 1934 in Nashua, IA. She married her soulmate Lawrence Bunston, October 19, 1951. To this union there were four children, Barbara, Larry, Steven, and Darrin; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Vera was a paraeducator at Charles City Community Schools until retiring at age 70. Helping children learn was one of her passions. She and Lawrence owned and operated Little Cedar Log and Lumber. Vera was well known for her baking. She made family gatherings sweeter with her pies and Chocolate Eclair. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and cats. She was proceeded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clarence, Glen, Ralph, and Dale Caster; two sisters, Eva Houser and Mabel Kreklau; and two nieces, Brenda Caster and Virginia Houser.
