Todd Hollerud

Todd Richard Hollerud, age 49, of Plymouth, Minnesota, died Thursday, January 14, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Todd's kind nature, gentle spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, at 11:00 am at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. N. at Vicksburg Lane in Plymouth, MN with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Inurnment will be in the spring.
Todd was born January 28, 1966, in Osage, Iowa to Richard and Lois Hollerud. He was baptized in Osage, Iowa and confirmed in New Hampton, Iowa. He graduated from New Hampton, Iowa high school in 1984, and later attended Brown's School of Radio and Television Technology. Todd worked in radio and TV production and this career led him to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. While living in the Marshall Islands, he learned to scuba dive, which became his passion and later his livelihood. In 1994, Todd relocated to Sarasota, Florida, and lived there for two years balancing his career as a videographer with his passion for scuba diving. Eventually, Todd moved to Minneapolis to be nearer to family and to work as a videographer for Channel 9 news. In 2004, he decided to pursue his passion for scuba and make it his career. Since then he has been a scuba instructor and worked at Adventure Sports West in Eden Prairie, MN. Todd hosted numerous dive trips to exotic locations and has been responsible for certifying hundreds of individuals. In 2015, Todd was awarded the SSI Pro 5000 designation. In March, 2015, Todd was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. He died January 14, 2016, at the NC Little Hospice in Edina, MN.
He is survived by his mother Lois Hollerud (Plymouth, MN) and his sister Malia Hollerud Haskins (Woodbury, MN) and nephew Sam Haskins (Woodbury, MN); four aunts (Shirley Nelson, Elaine Mortensen, Elaine Hollerud and Sharon Hollerud) and two uncles (Art Hollerud and Roger Hollerud) and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hollerud.
