Theresa F. Harrington, age 89 of rural Ionia, Iowa died Monday, December 16, 2013, at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcarein New Hampton. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Nashua with Rev. Mark Osterhaus of Holy Family Parish, New Hampton, presiding. Arrangements are with Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home - Olson Chapel in Nashua. Theresa Florence Harrington was born December 5, 1924, on a farm in Bremer County, IA, near Plainfield, the daughter of Florance Michael “F.M.” and Frances (Laube) Harrington. Theresa was baptized and confirmed at St.Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly and attended rural Plainfield country schools. In her youth, Theresa enjoyed roller-skating, dancing and reading books. The family moved to their farm east of Nashua in 1944 and Theresa led an active life on the farm. She helped wherever she was needed, if it were field work, helping with the livestock or household chores. In her free time she loved flower and vegetable gardening. She continued to live on the farm with her brother, Paul until moving into New Hampton Rehab and Healthcare in 2009. Survivors include two sisters, Rosemary (Virgil) Zwanziger of Nashua and Alice Klassen of New Hampton; two brothers, Robert Harrington of Nashua and Paul Harrington of Ionia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Norbert Harrington, Richard Harrington and James Harrington; three sisters, Catherine Miller, Delores Zwanziger and Eileen Zwanziger.

  2. My sympathy to Theresa’s family. Theresa’s room was right next door to my mom’s at Linn Haven, and they were table mates in the dining room. During the time my mom was there, we had many nice visits with Theresa. I am sorry for your loss. Linda (Zeien) Schmickle
