Tamera was born on November 22, 1950, in Evansdale, Iowa to Leslie and Phyllis (Morris) Stufflebeam, and lived a life marked by warmth, creativity, and a spirit of adventure that touched everyone who knew her.

Tamera graduated from Sumner High School and later attended some college at Hawkeye Community College. She carried with her throughout life a strong work ethic and a friendly, dependable nature. Her working years reflected both her versatility and her willingness to help wherever she was needed. She worked as a waitress at the Crystal Grill in New Hampton, spent 15 years with Pamida, worked for Coastal Mart for a year, served for five years at the Redemption Center, Dry Run Liquor in Decorah for 2 years, and later worked on fishing tackle for Captain Hooks in Genoa. In each role, she brought kindness, dedication, and a steady presence that made her a valued coworker and friend.

Tamera’s life changed forever when she met her husband, Les Rahlf, baling hay after Les’s cousin brought her that day to help at the farm. Their connection grew into a lifelong partnership, and they were married on February 27, 1971, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. Together they built a home and a family rooted in love and commitment. They lived in Des Moines for two years and then made New Hampton their home for 40 years before later moving to Wisconsin. Through every chapter of life, Tamera remained devoted to the people she loved and to the simple joys that made life meaningful.

She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and family member whose greatest happiness often came from time spent with her grandchildren. Tamera treasured being surrounded by family, and her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and good memories. She especially enjoyed spending time on the deck observing nature, where she could sit quietly and take in the beauty around her. She loved the outdoors, the changing seasons, and fall sightseeing, which reflected her adventurous heart and her appreciation for the world God created.

Tamera had many interests that brought color and joy to her life. She loved painting and doing arts and crafts, and she found satisfaction in creating with her hands. She also enjoyed tying fishing tackle during her work with Captain Hooks in Genoa, a task that combined patience and skill. She loved cooking and baking, and she took pleasure in preparing food for others. She especially enjoyed traveling to small-town restaurants and festivals, where she could experience new places and make lasting memories. She was also a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and took pride in cheering for her team. She loved motorcycling in the 80’s. Riding all over the country. She also spent most of the weekends dancing to 50’s and 60’s music and following her favorite band The Rubber Band.

Her love for animals was evident in the affection she had for her two basset hounds, who brought her companionship and joy. Tamera had a gentle heart and a deep appreciation for the comfort and loyalty that pets bring to a home. She was also known for her adventurous nature, which showed itself in her willingness to try new things, explore new places, and embrace life with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Tamera is survived by her husband Les Rahlf of Stoddard, WI; sons Chad Rahlf of Green Bay, WI and Brad (Stephanie) Rahlf of Evansdale; daughter Holly (Ron) White of Charles City; brother-in-law Albert (Mona) Rahlf; sister-in-law Carolee Stufflebeam; grandchildren Nick Rahlf, Brett Rahlf, Cole White, Emily Rahlf, Allison Rahlf, and Ashley White; great-grandchildren Charlie Rahlf and Lainey Rahlf; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Phyllis (Morris) Stufflebeam; and brothers Tim and Terry Stufflebeam.

  1. Oh so very sorry for your loss.
I remember back many years when she had her ceramic studio an we did projects. She was so good and it was one of my first artists experiences.

  2. Extending my sympathy to Tammy’s family. I have many fond memories of her in our younger years, lots of fun and laughter. May she rest in peace.
