Sylvia Ann Silber, 83 of Lakeville Minnesota, formerly of Nashua Iowa died Thursday, June 15th at Boden Senior Living Center, Apple Valley, MN. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St John Lutheran Church in Nashua with Pastor Todd Burrichter officiating. Silber, Drew Silber, David Silber, Chad Silber, Thomas Knipp, Bryan O’Dowd serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20th at Hugeback & Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left for Sylvia at www.hugebackfuneralhome.com. Sylvia Ann Burnett was born on April 2, 1940, in Nashua Iowa to Roger and Dorothy Burnett. Sylvia graduated high school in June 1958 and married her sweetheart, Gordon Silber on Aug. 23, 1958, at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua. They moved to their farm east of Nashua in 1961 where they farmed until 1972. They moved around for a few years living in Pocahontas, Burt, and Garner Iowa until 1983, when they moved to Little Falls MN where together they owned and operated the LaFalls Motel and Dairy Dream. They retired to Wabasha, Minn., in 2000. Her husband, Gordon died in 2008 and in 2010 she moved to Farmington/Lakeville to live with her son, Chris, and be closer to her grandkids. She loved to sew/quilt and was always excited to play a game of cards. Sylvia is survived by her children, Alan (Julie) Silber of Rochester, Minn., Teresa Silber of St. Cloud, Minn., Chris (Lisa) of Lakeville MN, Ben (Heather) Silber of Little Falls and daughter-in-law Sue Silber of Little Falls; grandchildren Tabatha (Chris) Raden of St Cloud MN, AJ (Paige) Silber of St Louis Park MN, Jennifer Silber of Hastings MN, Sarah (Bryan) O’Dowd of San Jose CA, David Silber of Minneapolis MN, Drew Silber of Goreville IL, Meghan (Thomas) Knipp of Elko MN, Rebecca Silber of Somerset KY and Chad Silber of Lakeville MN; seven great-grandchildren; Sisters Janice (Jim) Haus of Nashua IA, Wilda (Charlie) Albrecht of Readlyn IA and brother, Dennis (Diane) of Nashua IA Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon, and sons, Andrew Silber, in 2002 and Rex Silber in 2019.

  3. I loved and cherished the many phone calls I received from her. She would listen and we would laugh and she was so loving and understanding. I will always remember how much I loved being with her. She could talk to anyone and just made everyone feel that she cared. Love her so much . . .

There’s no words that I can put this but that I love you Grandma you where the most toughest woman I’ve ever met and yes I maybe be a little sad your not here but it’s okay because I know that God has gained a amazing angel and I know both uncles and Papa have been there open arms for you to come an I just wanted to know that I’d loved you as much as all are families had and you have touched peoples hearts Il always cherish are times together playing cards and making breakfast in the morning or me and you stealin little Debbie’s in the morning when we both know it’s not real breakfast but all I want to say is that I love alot and will thinking of you.

  5. Our paths crossed because my sister is Sylvia’s daughter-in-law, I enjoyed talking to her and she always had funny and interesting stories to tell, she was always smiling and happy!❤️

  6. I always looked forward to visiting Aunt Sylvia on my trips out that way from Maine. We could pass the hours talking znd laughing! I got many a phone call from Aunt Sylvia during December as her “Christmas card” to me, and those phone visits meant a lot to me, too! On a recent visit Aunt Sylvia had made the cutest pin cushion dolls for each member of my family, and I had the pleasure of delivering them. I cherish having something she made. My heart goes out to all her family. Weren’t we all blessed to have Sylvia in our lives! I will truly miss her!
