My father and I enjoyed many meals together with Ruth at the nursing home. They sat at the same table for quite awhile. One day they got in trouble for sharing food. We thought it was funny – but the nursing home help didn’t see the humor at all. Ruth’s family has my deepest sympathy at this time. Mary Mooberry (Mavis – I am Melissa’s mother)
Ruth lived in an apartment in our house for years and years. She was very much a part of our growing up. My sympathy to her friends and family. Barb Heusmann Berry
I am so sorry for your loss…Ruth lived next door to us in New Hampton and I remember her taking me to school most mornings (it wasn’t far to walk so I must have ‘convinced’ her to do this for me!) and I would walk over and wait in her living room until she was ready for work. I loved her blue furniture and she always had Bobby Vinton playing on her stereo 🙂 Julie (Gilbert) Tjepkes

Our condolences to Ruth’s family. The ol’ neighborhood has surely lost some good people. I didn’t know her personally that well, but she and Uncle Johnny can now hash over the news and gardening in heaven! They were good neighbors who looked out for each other. May she rest peacefully from her earthly struggles. Karen Reicks

Ruth was a wonderful neighbor to us Gilberts. She was always there with a smile to encourage us, a cookie, or a chat with mom over coffee. She is now at peace, no more pain and suffering. I will remember her fondly.
My deepest sympathy to all of Ruth’s family. She has had a long struggle and I am happy for her that she is at peace. She was a dear neighbor for many years and had many talents which she shared with us. May she rest in peace. Mary Wegner
