Russell A. Huebner, Age 82, of New Hampton, IA died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at his home. Russell A. Huebner was born on March 31, 1926 to Henry and Serena (Koelling) Huebner in Westgate, IA. He attended school at St. Peters Lutheran school in Westgate, IA. Russell farmed with his father until he enlisted into the US Army in 1950 and served until his honorable discharge in 1952. He later was employed at Rath Packing Plant in Waterloo for 20 years retiring in 1980. After his retirement Russell moved to Romance, Arkansas where he lived until he moved to New Hampton in 2003. Russell enjoyed fishing, gardening, his two dogs and his family. Russell is survived by his five sisters Elfrieda Neuendorf of Fredericksburg, IA, Marion Campbell of Denver, IA, Darlys Vinch of Mentor, OH, Doris (Richard) Wass of Mentor, OH, Hazel (Lew) Schrandt of Farmersburg, IA; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Norma Angus, Viola Huebner; two brothers Henry Jr. and Roger. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Cemetery: Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg with Steve Neuendorf, Jason Schrandt, William Huebner, Dennis Roberts, Dale Skoda, and Dan Chipera serving as casket bearers. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 7:00PM on, Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton and visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Service: Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM on Friday, June 20, 2008 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, in Fredericksburg with Pastor George Volkert and Pastor David Kind as officiant. Organist will be Karen Downs. Soloist will be Pastor David Kind. Songs will be Today your Mercy Calls Us, Abide with Me, Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness.
