Roxanne Lynn Ranc was born October 19, 1972, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Randy and Dawn (Bray) Null. Roxanne lived in Cedar Rapids during her childhood and teen years. She had Ashley and then along came Trent. She was young but had to grow up quickly. Her focus was to raise her children the best she could. Roxanne’s life was not an easy one, she had to battle many demons in her life and slowly, one-by-one she conquered them all. She lived in Charles City for a number of years working the night-shift at a motel, a cookie factory and for All-State Foods. She had a couple long lasting relationships but chose to move to New Hampton where she worked at McDonalds and Timber-Roots. Her passion was cooking and growing house plants. While in New Hampton, she met Bill Ranc. The couple dated for seven years and were married three years ago.
She enjoyed outdoor activities like camping and tubing. Her favorite thing was cooking for the holidays and inviting all her family and friends over. No one ever went hungry. Roxanne had a big heart but was also a very determined and stubborn woman. When she had her mind set on something, she would not give up until she accomplished what she set out to do. She was a straight-shooter and would tell you her thoughts, not sugar-coating anything. Roxanne battled with alcohol for many years and she was later diagnosed with cirrhoses of the liver. After her diagnosis, she defeated the last demon and quit cold-turkey with the support of her husband, family and God. It was then she truly lived as the person that God intended her to be. She focused on what really mattered in her life, her children and grandchildren. She was a very devoted and protective wife that filled the home with unconditional love for her husband. She shared her home with her sister and her two children, Addison “Bobby” and Alyvia. She helped them and was known as Nana. She loved them dearly and lived a full life. Roxanne had conquered many things that most people struggle with daily. She has touched many lives and came to bond with a few very close friends such as Jackie Edwards and Tammera Jacobs. Her belief in Jesus Christ was strong and in that faith she is now with the King of Kings watching over her loved ones
