Rosella M. Eischeid age 95 of New Hampton died Wednesday evening, March 23, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Holy Family Parish – St. Mary’s Center, New Hampton with Rev. Mark Osterhaus celebrating the Mass. The pall will be placed on the casket by her son and her sister. Lector will be Dave Welter and the Offertory Gifts will be presented by Mike and Kathy Welter. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Hampton with Jim Forkenbrock, John Wanderscheid, Virgil Hilsman, Dan Carlin, Dave Welter and Mike Welter serving as pallbearers. Friends may greet the family 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton where there will be a 4:00 p.m. rosary and a 6:00 p.m. scripture service. Visitation continues 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Rosella Mary Eischeid was born February 23, 1916, on the Gebel family farm located northeast of North Washington. She received her education at St. Mary’s School in North Washington. Rosella met Ralph Eischeid and the couple were married at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Washington following Ralphs return from the war. The couple initially lived in North Washington and later moved to their current home in New Hampton. Ralph died on March 13, 1977, at the age of 62. Rosella loved cooking for their family gatherings and playing cards. Survivors include one son, Bob Eischeid of New Hampton; one sister, Rita (Bob) Welter of Cedar Falls; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; son, William Eischeid on April 29, 2009; two brothers, Don Gebel and Virgil Gebel.

  1. I used to work at the Care Center in the kitchen where Rosella was living at. Every day that I’d serve Rosella she always had a smile on her face and that put a smile on mine. I’ll miss you, Rosie!
