Rosaleen Knutson age 77 of Saude, died Saturday January 11, 2014, at New Hampton Nursing & Rehab Center in New Hampton. Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. Wednesday January 15, 2014, at Saude Lutheran Church, rural Lawler with Pastor Dan Larson presiding. Interment will be held in the Saude Lutheran Church Cemetery, with Justin Kuehn, Jared Knutson, Jacob Knutson, Roger Knutson, Richard Knutson, Gary Johnson, Rick Johnson and Tom Schmitz serving as pallbearers. Friends may greet the family 4:00– 7:00 p.m. Tuesday January 14, 2014, at Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Rosaleen Fae Knutson was born October 22, 1936, in Cresco, Iowa the daughter of Thedore and Lydia (Heimerdinger) Vaala. She received her education at Saude Lutheran School and was confirmed at the Saude Lutheran Church. Rosaleen graduated from Cresco High School. She then attended Gates Business College in Waterloo, Iowa. On September 15, 1957 Rosaleen married Lowell Knutson at the Saude Lutheran Church. To this union three children were born Ruth, Don and Jeff. Rosaleen loved her family very much and was a woman of great faith. Due to her declining health in the last few years, she resided with Lowell at the Nursing & Rehab in New Hampton. Her strong faith was with her until the end. Rosaleen loved to watch the Minnesota Twins, along with the Iowa Hawkeyes basketball team. She enjoyed listening to all the Crestwood wrestling meets on the radio. She had a passion for gardening and would always have a large vegetable garden and many flower gardens scattered around the farm. Rosaleen cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rosaleen is survived by her husband Lowell of 56 years; daughter, Ruth (Glen) Kuehn of New Hampton, IA; two sons, Don of Lawler, IA, Jeff (Karen) Knutson of Lawler, IA; her two special sons, Roger Knutson of Cresco, IA, Richard (Paige) Knutson of Yuma, AZ; grandchildren, Justin Kuehn, Jared Knutson, Jacob Knutson, Kassidy Knutson, Hannah Knutson, Wyatt Knutson, and Kyaah Knutson; sister-in-law, Marcia (Dale) Wagoner of Lawler, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lorraine; a sister and brother in infancy.

  2. Dear Lowell and family, I enjoyed getting to know you all when Rosaleen was a patient at the Cresco hospital. She had such a bright smile, and a strong faith that always lifted my spirits. You have a wonderful, close-knit, loving family. Enjoyed visiting Lowell and Rosaleen at their home with Arlene Wilson (Clair’s great aunt) a couple times a year. Always had such fun visits! Thinking about the Knutson family just gives me a warm feeling inside. Honored to know you good folks. So sorry for your great loss, and praying that God will hold you close and give you strength and comfort and peace in the days and months ahead.   9. I had the opportunity to spend time with Rosaleen when she was at St Mary’s. WHen she talked about family and her husband you could hear the love and pride in her voice.
