Ronald Kerr age 70 of Sumner, formerly of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
A private family service will take place at a later date.

Ron Lee Kerr was born March 11, 1944, in New Hampton, IA, the son of Vernon and Norma (Urness) Kerr. He received his education in Fredericksburg and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1962. After high school, Ron attended airline school and was employed by Delta Airlines and worked at the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. Ron returned home to Fredericksburg and worked at the Service Station on the south end of New Hampton.
While Ron was living in Fredericksburg, he met Joan Adams and the couple were married October 24, 1964 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Washington, IA. To this union; three sons were born. The couple later divorced.
Ron was a small business owner in the Fredericksburg area. He owned and operated “The Mint” restaurant in Fredericksburg. Ron also had ownership in Ott & Forsman Egg processing.
Survivors include three sons, Danny (Lori) Kerr of Johnston, IA, Brad (Tami) Kerr of Fredericksburg, IA, and Todd Kerr of Sumner, IA; five grandchildren; one sister, Jane (Rick) Morgan of Waterloo, IA; special friends, Jo Rochford of Sumner, IA, and Jeanne Barty of Sumner, IA; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Peterson; brother-in-law, Donald Peterson.
