Ronald Keith Johnson passed away of natural causes on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at his home in New Hampton.Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Chapel in New Hampton with Pastor Rod Ankrom officiating. Ronald Keith Johnson was born on March 25, 1931 to Glen and Mabelle (Beightol) Johnson in Waterloo, IA. He attended school in Waterloo. Ron worked for a dairy farmer as a teen when milk was hauled in cans. He later worked as a city worker, former Grade A milk hauling, owning his own route for a number of years. Ron enjoyed camping and fishing at Elysian, MN, where he and Gerry have a camper. He had many good friends at the campsite. Ron loved joking and poking fun with the other campers. He is survived by his wife and companion, Gerry of New Hampton; two children, Jacque (Joe) Bush of Oelwein, IA and Mike (Mary Louise) Johnson of Rutland, Massachusetts; one sister Charlene Grattan of Cedar Falls, IA; two grandchildren, two step sons Mike (Heeya) Knutson of Colorado Springs, CO and Mark (Brenda) Knutson of Waterloo, IA; five step grandchildren; a sister-in-law Bonnie Johnson of Waterloo, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Glenyce Wilson; a brother Jerry Johnson; two brothers-in-law Rolla Wilson and Fred Grattan. Cemetery: Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery with Mike Johnson, Jacque Bush, Mike Lowe, Bill Lowe, Roger Stansberry and Larry Christensen serving as casket bearers. Visitation: Visitation will be 1:00 pm-2:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton. Service: Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Chapel in New Hampton with Pastor Rod Ankrom officiating.
