Roland Carl Klotz, age 83 of Fredericksburg, IA, died Friday, July 12,
2024, at Linn Haven Rehab & Healthcare in New Hampton.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Roland Carl Klotz was born June 1, 1941, in  Fredericksburg, IA,  He
was the only son of Alfred and Nette (Walters) Klotz. His early years
in Fredericksburg were filled with learning and laughter, culminating
in his graduation from Fredericksburg High School, where he laid the
foundations for a life of dedication and hard work.

It was at a dance in Waterloo where he met the love of his life, and
together they embarked on a journey of companionship and mutual
support, marrying in Sarasota, FL, on January 2, 1991. Roland’s
professional life was equally fruitful; he dedicated over three
decades to John Deere in Waterloo, where his commitment and expertise
were well recognized. In tandem with his career, Roland nurtured the
land, farming with passion and care in the fields southwest of
Fredericksburg.

Survivors include  his wife of 33 years, Evelyn; a daughter, Diana
Poncelet of Ellington, FL; two step-sons, Donlad (Rachel) Lightfoot,
Jesse Lightfoot, all of Waterloo; six grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna (James) Rassler of Montana,
Jane Klotz of Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.

  2. Our thoughts and prayers to the family. My Dad and Mom (Jim and Marian Lampe) were neighbors to Roland for quite a few years. Dad and Roland had a lot of fun together.

  3. Our sympathy and prayers to Roland’s family. He lived south of us but we haven’t seen him for a long time. We always enjoyed visiting with him. Roland had a great sense of humor. Our condolences as you cherish and recall past times.
