Robert “Bob” Dann, age 75 of Nashua, IA, passed away on May 23, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital. Bob was born the third child of Dorthy (Taylor) Dann and Frank Dann on July 4, 1950. Bob grew up in Nashua, IA, with his 10 brothers and sisters. Bob graduated from Nashua High School in 1968. He furthered his education at the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Bob married Sharrill Ann (Crooks) Dann on June 30th,1973. Together, they had three daughters: Lisa, Rachel, and Sharri. Bob retired from GMT in Waverly, Iowa, in 2022. He will be remembered most of all for his heart of service. Bob enjoyed raising his three daughters and gardening with his family. He was also known for his love of science fiction, Marvel movies, and cooking for his family, including his famous pizza and spaghetti.
Bob spent his retirement years caring for his grandchildren. He had the heart of a handyman and enjoyed trying his hand at fixing many things. Bob was a man that would not only give his shirt off his back, but he’d open his home to you and offer you a warm meal. Throughout the years, Bob and Sharrill opened their home to many nieces, nephews, and family members. Bob was a man of great faith. Despite his many health struggles, he always trusted God’s plan in it all. His daughters found comfort, strength, and encouragement in their conversations with him.
He is survived by his wife, Sharrill (Crooks) Dann of Nashua, his daughters, Lisa (Matt) Bond of Charles City, Iowa; Rachel (Mark) Wilson of Waverly, Iowa; and Sharri Dann of Rochester, Minnesota; as well as 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
