Richard Stolfus

Richard Stolfus, age 58, of New Hampton, Iowa, died Sunday, July 19, 2026, at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at The Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd (205 Madison St Floyd, IA 50435) with Rev. Mike Reicherts presiding.

Inurnment will take place at 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at New Hampton City Cemetery.

Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton has been entrusted with Richard’s arrangements.

Richard Allen Stolfus, Jr. was born on January 30, 1968, in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Richard Allen Stolfus, Sr. and Diane (Munson) Stolfus. He grew up in New Hampton, where he attended New Hampton High School.

Throughout his life, Richard made his living doing what he loved—driving trucks. He spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver and later as a cement truck driver, dedicating his career to the trucking industry.

Away from work, Richard found happiness in the outdoors. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time in the woods. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and looked forward to following the races whenever he could.

More than anything, Richard will be remembered for the way he treated people. He had a welcoming spirit and believed that no one was ever a stranger. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, Richard had a way of making everyone feel like a friend. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and the many friends he made throughout his life.

Richard is survived by his children: son Elijah Stolfus (Rosey Perrizo); daughters Angel Stolfus and Kayla Stolfus; and son Kyle Stolfus. He is also survived by his brother, Mike (El Mar) Stolfus; his nephew, Jaden Stolfus; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
