Richard Kleen age 71, of New Hampton, IA died Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton, in Hampton, IA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, at Holy Family Parish, New Hampton with Rev. Mark Osterhaus celebrating the Mass. The pall will be placed by Richard's wife and five children. Lector for the service will be Mike Simon. Presenting the offertory gifts will be Madison Simon, Lindsay Simon, Johnathan Fisher, Luke Fisher and Kody Kleen.
Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Ionia with Richard's grandchildren as pallbearers, Johnathan Fisher, Madison Simon, Luke Fisher, Lindsay Simon and Kody Kleen. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Putney, Adam Putney, Allen Putney, Craig Gerbig, Chad Gerbig and Frank Putney.

Friends may greet the family 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home, New Hampton where there will be a 4:00 p.m. rosary and 6:30 p.m. parish scripture service. Visitation continues an hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.
Richard Louis Kleen was born November 24, 1943, in Osage, IA, the son of Louis and Joyce (LaCoste) Kleen. His early years were spent on the family farm near Rudd. He received his education in the Rudd-Rockford High School, graduating in 1962. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp. on November 20, 1964. On November 30, 1968, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, he married Virginia Annett. To this union three children were born. Richard worked for many years at Farm Service in both Minnesota and Iowa. He then began working for Five Star Coop in New Hampton retiring in 2008. Richard enjoyed watching old western movies, the Iowa Hawkeyes, being outdoors and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Virginia; two daughters, Lisa (Michael) Simon of Pleasant Hill, IA, Kathleen (Gordon) Richie of Altoona, IA; one son, Raymond (Michele) Kleen of New Hampton; five grandchildren, Johnathan Fisher, Madison Simon, Luke Fisher, Lindsay Simon and Kody Kleen; two sisters, Charleen Olswold, JoAnn (Kenneth) Gerbig, all of Mason City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Kristen Alicia Fisher; one sister, Kathleen Kleen.
Simply Elegant Spathiphyllum was purchased for the family of Richard Kleen.

Hi everyone, So sorry for your loss. He was a very special man and I always remember him in his cowboy boots and western shirts. He was such a gentleman.
