Great memories Mike. Our dad, Raymond, and Father Bodensteiner had a special bond. Father spent many a Sunday at the farm for Sunday dinner. May they enjoy being reunited in heaven.
RIP Father Pete. You held a special place in the hearts of the Fitzgerald family. I also remember many times of you being at the farm with our family. Father also married Tom and I in the 60’s in Lourdes. May your heavenly rewards be as special as you were.
Father Pete was a great man and priest. I was an altar boy for Father and he played a mean game of cribbage. My Dad would give Father hay for his horse. In the summer I would hang out at the pool with Fathers nephew while he would go golfing. Many memories in Lourdes with Father Pete. Sincere blessings to the family. Mike Fitzgerald Tulsa Oklahoma.
R.I.P. Fr. Pete; He married us in Lourdes 1/18/1969. A good man!!
I have many fond memories of Father Pete, but there is one in particular that sticks out in my memory. As a kid, I served as an Altar boy at Lourdes. One evening during Lent, I arrived to an empty Sacristy so I decided to wait in the dark for Father to come. I stood next to the door where the light switch was located. When Father Pete came in to turn on the lights, I touched his hand and said ‘boo.’ My parents told me after Mass that they heard him scream all the way in the back of the church. It is a good thing he had a sense of humor.

I didn’t know Father Pete very well as I was gone from Lawler and living in Arizona. However, I do remember my mom (Signora Goss) speaking fondly of him and his ‘bridge playing’ skills! She respected Father Pete very much.
Fr. Pete was a very dear friend when he was at I. C. and very involved in sports. We admired his energy for golf and of course his deep voice and smile. Fr. Pete enjoyed visiting a lot. Eternal Rest grant on to him oh Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace. Norb and Mary Gansen
Fr. Pete had a special place in the hearts of all the Black family. We met him in Grundy Center. He continued to visit mom and dad when they moved to St. Paul. He presided at all of our weddings, and was loved dearly by all of us.
My prayers and sympathy go out to thr family of Father Pete. Jim shared manyhappy memories of Father.
Many fond memories of Father Pete. His cigars and cards and deep laugh when a joke was told, and his ‘mini sermons’ preached to his nieces and nephews. May God grant you peace and eternal life.

We are still grateful to Father Pete for taking the time to guide us through the marriage preparation program back in 1980. He always remembered us when he saw us all these years!
I remember Father Pete coming over to watch Cubs and Cardinals baseball games with my Dad, Neal. What a rivalry and I do not mean the ball teams! But they had a good time. Carol Reicks

Father Bodensteiner “Fr B” was pastor at Cascade, St. Mary’s when I was a child. His horse, “Big Red” was housed at my family farm and Fr. visited and rode regularly, including to join us for meals from time to time. My family was very fond of Father and he corresponded with my folks for several years after leaving Cascade.
