Raymond Shefner age 72 of Ionia, IA, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Linn Haven Rehab & Healthcare in New Hampton.
At Raymond's request, no funeral will be held and a private family burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.
Arrangements are with Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton.
Raymond Albert Shefner was born March 4, 1945, in Charles City, IA, the son of Walter and Louise (Janssen) Shefner. He received his education in Bassett and Charles City, Iowa and served in the United States Army from 1962 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1964.
Raymond is survived by his sister, Jean Ann (Martin) Merding of Charles City; brother, Bert (Sandy) Sheffner of Charles City; sisters-in-law, Janet Sheffner of Floyd, IA and Ruth Sheffner of Fredericksburg, IA; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ronald, Roger, Jim and Tom Sheffner; one sister, Betty Mason.
