Randy Glen Evans age 65 of Nashua, IA died peacefully Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 9th St. Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, IA, surrounded by his family. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. Monday, October 18, 2021, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory -- Olson Chapel in Nashua, IA. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nashua, IA with Dillon Evans, Nicholas Evans, Brandon Evans, Matt Evans, Josh Evans, and Mike Stroud Sr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Evans, Christian Hillman, Titus Evans, Mike Stroud Jr., and Marcus Evans. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Randy was born on January 1, 1956, in Hampton, IA, the son of Dallas Funnell and Shirley Kriens. He was the oldest of three brothers. He attended school in Dumont and graduated from Dumont High School in 1974. As a young kid, Randy enjoyed fishing and different outdoor activities. Randy had a son at the age of 22. He met Joann Barrett in 1982 and the couple was married on December 31, 1987, in Nashua IA. To this union, five children were born. Randy and his brother Marty spent over 20 years installing and resurfacing hardwood floors. They worked together well and had a lot of fun doing it. Randy also worked as a mechanic and self-proclaimed P.R. man for the American Sled Shed in Plainfield IA. In his later years, Randy enjoyed spending time with his family/friends playing poker and working on his chopper. Building & drag racing his shovelhead was always one of his favorite things to do. Randy was a jack of all trades and loved to help any way he could. He will be missed by many and remembered for his ability to tell a story, his sense of humor and love for his family. Randy is survived by his wife, Joann Evans of Nashua, IA; four sons, Clint Evans of Newton, IA, Brandon (Tina) Evans of Nashua, IA, Nicholas Evans of Nashua, IA, Dillon (Jenny) Evans of Nashua, IA, two daughters; Christina (Michael) Stroud of Nashua, IA, Megan (Jeremy Weeks) Evans of Waterloo, IA; 11 grandchildren; mother, Shirley Evans of Dumont, IA; one brother, Marty (Julie) Evans of Shellsburg, IA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Orville & Dorothy Funnell, father, Dallas Funnell; step-father, Fred Evans; one brother, Scott Evans.

  1. I don’t have any particular memory, as there are so many. Randy was a jack of all trades, I know he was always there to do anything for anyone who needed it. Randy was truly a great friend. Randy will be missed. My deepest condolences to the family. ♥️
