Ralph Nickolas Heit, age 84 of New Hampton, Iowa died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary’s Center, New Hampton with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating the Mass. The pall will be placed on the casket by nephews Norman Heit, Melvin Heit and Gerald Heit. The offertory gifts will be presented by Jeannette Heit, Mary Ann Hiet and Jeanne Heit. Duane Heit will be the lector.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Hampton with Mike Heit, Brian Heit, Scott Heit, Bob Holschlag, Danny Heit and Jamie Heit as pallbearers. John Wandersheid will be an honorary pallbearer.
Friends may greet the family 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton.
Ralph Nickolas Heit was born October 11, 1924, in New Hampton, Iowa the son of Joseph Henry and Mary (Boellerschen) Heit. He received his education in the rural Country School District #4 and St. Mary’s Catholic School in New Hampton.
Ralph farmed his entire life and lived with his parents until their deaths. He moved to his present farm south of New Hampton in 1958. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, collecting antiques and going to auctions.
Ralph is survived by one sister, Eleanor Fankhausewr of Webster City; fifteen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
