Phyllis T. Glaser, age 76 of New Hampton, Iowa died Sunday morning, February 28, 2010, at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Washington with Principle Celebrant and Homilest Rev. Kenneth J. Glaser. Con-celebrants will be Most Rev. Archbishop Jerome Hanus, Msgr. Carl Schmitt and Priests of the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Jane Karels will be the organist accompanying the I.C. Men's Choir. Lectors for the service will be Dan Conlan and Joan Nosbisch. Presenting the offertory gifts will be Phyllis' three daughters. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Washington with her ten children serving as pallbearers. Friends may call 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton. Visitation continues an hour prior to the Mass at church on Thursday. Phyllis Theresa Glaser was born July 15, 1933, in Elma, IA, the daughter of Philip and Elizabeth (Rosonke) Biwer. She received her education in Elma graduating from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in 1951. She worked for four years in Mason City for the local telephone company. On August 24, 1954, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma, she was united in marriage to Joseph Leo Glaser. To this union ten children were born. The couple raised their family and together farmed southeast of North Washington. Phyllis was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Rosary Society in North Washington and a neighborhood card club. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Chickasaw fan and enjoyed watching college sports as well. Phyllis especially enjoyed watching her ten children grow up and attend all the events for her grandchildren. She will be remembered by her family as always willing to give time to those needing any assistance and playing games with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Joe; three daughters, Bev (Norman) Brus of Waverly, Diane (Dan) Sumner, Linda (Dale) Rosonke all of New Hampton; seven sons, Steve (Shirley) Glaser of Nashua, Chuck (Nancy) Glaser, Phil (Theresa) Glaser, all of New Hampton, Fr. Ken Glaser of Cedar Falls, Jerry (Diane) Glaser of Prior Lake, MN, Ed (Lynn) Glaser of Dubuque, Jim (Janet) Glaser of Albert Lea, MN; twenty four grandchildren, Sigrid Brus, Morgan Brus, Amy (Eric) Conlon, Stacie (Eric) Schockemoehl, Missy (Travis) Birkey, Sarah Sumner, Nicki (Jared) Herrmann, Brad Glaser and fianc Krista Lerch, Heather Glaser, Dana Glaser, Tim Glaser, Emily Glaser, Marie Glaser, William Glaser, Hannah Rosonke, Nathan Rosonke, Jonas Rosonke, Ryan Glaser, Abby Glaser, Katie Glaser, Jackson Glaser, Emerson Glaser, Mackenzie Glaser and Mattison Glaser; four great-grandchildren, Braylen Conlon, Ashlyn Schockemoehl, Kinsey Herrmann and Cadin Herrmann; three brothers, Joe (Betty) Biwer of Granger, IA, Matt (Jackie) Biwer of Seattle, WA and Al (Donna) Biwer of Elma; three sisters, Gerry Heying of Elma, Mary Sullivan of Rochester, MN and Betty (Bob) Klassen of Ventura, IA. She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Leander “Slim” Heying and Burdell Sullivan.
