Paul Johnson

Paul O. Johnson, age 85, of Elma, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton. Paul Oliver Johnson was born on January 5, 1923 to Ole C. and Anna (Sanderson) Johnson on the family farm hear Elma. He attended country school near his home. Paul farmed with his dad before entering the US Army and served his country during WWII. After his honorable discharge, Paul returned to Elma where he farmed the family farm until he entered the Colonial Manor in 1994. Paul enjoyed visiting with family and friends and farming. Paul is survived by one sister Stella Obadal of Waterloo; two nieces Marilyn (Mike) Hudson of Waterloo and Marlene (Loras) Schaefer of Waterloo; one nephew Dennis (Judy) Obadal of Waterloo and several great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Carlton and Arlo. Cemetery: Burial will be in Jerico Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation: Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in Elma. Service: Funeral services will be 11:00am on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Jerico Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jerico, Iowa with Pastor Daniel Larson officiating. Edith Kolthoff will be organist with congregational hymns Abide With Me and What A Friend We Have in Jesus.
