Paul A. Arndt age 84 of Charles City died Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at 9th St. Chautauqua Guest Homes in Charles City.

A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.

Paul was born on September 8, 1940, in Riceville, Iowa, he was the son of Carl and Leona (Milhan) Arndt. Paul was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Paul shared a special bond with his twin sister, Pauline, and was a cherished sibling to his other brother and sister. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1960, where he made lifelong friends and set the foundation for his future.

Paul enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama.  After receiving an honorable discharge in 1969, he returned to Iowa.

In his younger years he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, pheasant hunting and fishing, often traveling to northern Minnesota to explore its beautiful lakes. Paul was employed at several places during his life, including the George A. Clark factory in Minneapolis,the Iowa Department of Transportation and eventually retired from Plumb Building Supply in New Hampton.  Paul enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and was an ever faithful Minnesota Vikings fan.

Paul is survived by one brother, Duane (Mary Anne) Arndt of Hutchinson, MN; one sister, Dixie Hughes of Greene; one nephew, William (Audrey) Arndt of Tea, SD; four nieces, Jodi (Jon) Reeg of Independence, Bobbi Jo Alcott of Roseville, MN, Stacy (Eric) Kuennen of Shawnee, KS, Sarah (Levi) Towsley of Greene; great-nieces and great-nephews Hayden, Alysa, Clayton, Jacob, Regan, Riley, Anthony, Aiden, Emma, Ryker, Akyla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Leona Arndt; twin sister, Pauline (Robert) Kuennen.
