Patricia Ann Ondrashek, age 69 of New Hampton, Iowa died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at her home. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph Center, New Hampton with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating the Mass. Lector for the service will be Sandy Reicks. Ann Bennett will be the organist accompanying Mike Carlin, cantor and the Holy Family Resurrection Choir. Presenting the offertory gifts will be Pat's grandchildren. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton with Pat's five grandchildren as honorary pallbearers. Friends may greet the family 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, where there will be a 4:00 p.m. rosary and a 6:00 p.m. scripture service. Visitation continues an hour prior to the Mass at church on Monday. Patricia was born June 14, 1940, in Lawler, IA, the daughter of Louis and Elizabeth (Balk) Blong. She received her education in Lawler, graduating from high school there in 1958. On June 8, 1959, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Lawler, she married Norbert Ondrashek. To this union four children were born. Pat worked for 24 years at Sara Lee in New Hampton, retiring in 1997. Norbert Ondrashek died on June 17, 2006, at the age of 69. In her free time Pat enjoyed her flower garden and spending time with family. Survivors include three daughters, Arlene (Joe) Kuhn of New Hampton, Lorene (Jeff) Reeves of Waterloo, Judy Ondrashek of Alta Vista, IA; one son, Steven Ondrashek of Ft. Collins, CO; five grandchildren, Paula Earles, Jim Kuhn, Dennis Brandenburg, Randy Mai and Desarae Heying; two step-grandchildren, Breanna and Jacob Reeves; four great-grandchildren, Sadie Songer, Hanah Earles, Kaylee Songer and Josie Earles; two sisters, Mary Gebel of New Hampton, Edna (Ardwin) Reicks of Lawler; two brothers, Cyril Blong of Milwaukee, Cletus Blong of Elma, IA; one sister-in-law, Rosalin Ondrashek of Lawler. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Louis Blong, Jr.; one sister, Arlene Blong.

  12. Pat was a classmate through 12 grades in Lawler. We had a 50 year class reunion Nov 1, 2008. Thinking it may have been the first time we visited since graduation and how happy I am to have had that time with her. I was shocked to learn of her death. My sincere sympathy her family and friends.
