Nancy Rosonke

Nancy Lee Rosonke, age 70, of Charles City, IA passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 9th Street Chautauqua Nursing Home in Charles City. Nancy Lee Smith was born August 27, 1941 in Elgin, IL to Willis and Myrna (Gladstone) Smith. Early on in her childhood Nancy's family made their home in Charles City where she grew up. In 1958, she married John Ransom. To this union five children were born. The couple later divorced. Nancy was a full time mom until becoming employed with Brooks Restaurant in Charles City until she began working at Fox River Mills in Osage for 17 years until her retirement. On September 23, 1995 Nancy was united in marriage to Donald Rosonke at their home in rural Floyd. Her survivors include her children, Billy (Sandi) Ransom of Alden, MN, Crystal (Tim) Fairlie of Cedar Rapids, Sonya Bosier of Cedar Rapids, Amber Ransom of Charles City; her siblings, Barbara (Ron) Rice of Mason City, Janet (Bill) Vokes of Floyd, Millard (Patty) Smith of Frederick, CO and April (Jeff) Rusch of Brighton, CO; 14 gradnchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, Don; her daughter, Jewel Colson and grandson, Tom Horvath. Per Nancy's wishes a private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery in Floyd, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family.
