Nancy Meeker

Nancy L. Meeker, age 73 of Charles City, formerly of Nashua, died Sunday evening May 16, 2010, at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City after a long battle with cancer. At Nancy's request, no services will be held. Nancy requested that memorials be sent to C & W Rustic Hollow Shelter, Nashua, Iowa, where Nancy devoted a great deal of her time to fund raising and helping the special needs animals at the sanctuary. Nancy Louise Flowers was born July 11, 1936 in Waukegan, Illinois, the daughter of Jesse Wren and Dora Fern (Harper) Flowers. She is survived by a sister, Judith O'Brien; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Minerd DeMerritt. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother.
