Milton Eugene Grandy was born August 9, 1930, in rural Floyd County, IA, the son of Glen and Velma (Otto) Grandy. He received his education in rural country schools in both Floyd and Butler Counties and then attended high school in Plainfield, IA. Milton initially farmed and then worked for several years between the Lumley Implement Co., the Wagner Blacksmith Shop and the Boveia Construction and Excavating, all in Nashua. He subsequently opened and operated a tractor repair shop in Nashua for over twenty years. Milton enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews, going to area races and football on TV. He was very inclined mechanically and loved to look at ‘old-time’ machinery.
Survivors include his siblings, Richard (Alice) Grandy of Nashua, Marlys (Merrill) Jacobs of Waukon, IA, Alvin (Arlyce) Schroeder of Denver, IA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
I remember going to Milts tractor shop when I was little with my dad and grandpa. Spent alot of time there. He always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by many!

We are so sorry to hear of Milton’s passing. He and Louie dealt with many a tractor over the years. I enjoyed listening to them discuss all kinds of mechanical issues on what are now those old tractors. He and Louie liked going to coffee in Nashua and then having dinner together in Ionia, after a short tour of the farm’s latest ‘events’. He will be missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family.
DEEPEST SYMPATHY to Rich and Alice Grandy ! We know how much you will miss Milton.
Lots of great memories. I will deeply miss Milton. Thoughts and prayers to his entire family
I was just thinking about Milt the other day, telling my kids about ‘Uncle Milt’ and how I liked visiting him when I went town with my dad. We send our sympathy to his family.
