Michael James Throndson, age 50 of New Hampton, died suddenly from a heart attack, Tuesday June 23, 2009, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph Center, New Hampton with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating the Mass. Lector for the service will be Tim Throndson. Presenting the offertory gifts will be Angela Glaser, Pamela Novotny, Jennifer Knutson and Shirley Hoffman. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton with Bob Knutson, Dick Brummond, Bill Schmidt, Tony Hoffman, Todd Throndson and Jim Keane as pallbearers. Friends may call 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton where there will be a family rosary at 2:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues an hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday. Michael James Throndson was born July 24, 1958, in New Hampton, the son of Irvin and Florence (Schwickerath) Throndson. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and was a 1976 graduate of the New Hampton High School. On June 17, 1978, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Hampton he married Theresa Buckendahl. To this union four children were born. Mike started in the family business, Throndson Oil Co., in high school and bought half interest with his brother Larry in 1979. Survivors include two daughters, Christina Throndson of Waterloo, Iowa and Gabrielle Throndson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one son, August Throndson of New Hampton; his parents, Irv and Florence Throndson of New Hampton; six brothers, Lynn Throndson, Larry (Darlene) Throndson, all of New Hampton, Chris Throndson of Fredericksburg, Iowa, Allen Throndson of Ogden, UT, Tim (Joann) Throndson of Raleigh, NC, Paul (Linda) Throndson of Corinth, TX; eight sisters, Shirley (Ed) Hoffman of Ionia, Betty Throndson of Phoenix, Annette (Bill) Webb of Hampton, VA, Theresa (John) Williams of Waco, TX, Pam (Jeff) Novotny of Shellrock, IA, Angela (Gerard) Glaser and Jennifer (Rodney) Knutson, all of New Hampton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; a daughter, Danielle Throndson; a sister, Julie Lindsay; two nieces, Katie and Cora Lindsay.

  4. I am so terribly sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Although I only knew Mike for a few years, I will cherish the memories that I have of him. Mike was one of the first real friends that I made in New Hampton, and I am sorry that our relationship will not have a chance to grow as I had wished.
