Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I was one of Mike’s caretakers and he was a very interesting and charming gentleman to work with. The memory that stands out the most between Mike and I was on July 4th, 2018. Mike wanted to watch fireworks really bad this night, so i invited him to come out to the Willowood/Pine patio and together we watched the fireworks off in the distance being shot off in Waterloo and Dunkerton. Everytime they shot off another firework, Mike would look at me and say,” Boom, boom, boom.” I will cherish that moment forever in my heart.

  2. Mike is one of the really special ones… Really really special. He will be and already is very missed! We could write a whole book (a series even!) of fantastic stories about you, buddy! Stories I’ll never forget! I’ll miss you walking me out every day and SO much more! Rest easy, Mike – I hope to see you again someday 😢 In the meantime, watch all the Wheel of Fortune and drink all the pop you could possibly want! ❤️ ☝️☝️

  3. As a nurse/Cna they expect you not to get attached to your residents, but I am human. Mike passing has hurt my heart, this was unexpected and the last time I seen him he walked me to the door and said “see you Monday.” He had a huge heart and he cared for those who took care of him. He was very appreciative of all we did for him. He has a special place in my heart and always will. None of my residents in the past have ever impacted me like Mike did. He was my buddy. I will miss him tremendously. My cousin also passed unexpectedly the same time frame as Mike did. I wanted to attend Mike’s funeral, but I won’t be able to. My cousin’s is on the same day and same time. But I will be thinking of Mike as well. My sympathy goes out to Ray, John, Jackie, Robin and Rachel. I dialed Ray’s number for Mike almost every evening. Sorry for rambling, but I am having a rough time with all of this. Rest in Paradise Mike, hope to see you later.

  4. I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the family for the loss of your dear Mike. I hope that you will find comfort in the words of Jesus at John 5:28,29 where he promised that the day is coming in which all those in the grave will be brought back to life. And they will be brought back to a beautiful paradise earth with no more sickness. (Psalm 37:11, 29) (Isaiah 33:24) Until then, it is just like your dear Mike is sleeping. (John 11:11-13) May your family draw strength from Jehovah, the God of all Comfort.
