Mary Lee Tyer, age 58 of Nashua, Iowa died Sunday November 22, 2009, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at the United Methodist Church, Nashua with Pastor Lundula officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua with Mike Tyer, Joe Crandall, Russell Ingersoll, Angie Crandall, Lisa Crandall and Katie Crandall as pallbearers. Friends may call 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and an hour prior to the service at the church. Mary Lee Tyer was born February 25, 1951, in Osage, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Mary (Turner) Tyer. She received her education in Nashua, graduating with the class of 1970. Mary spent 25 years volunteering at the Nashua Elementary School and Library and was also the Meals on Wheels Coordinator for over 25 years. Mary Lee also worked for many of the clergy at the United Methodist Church by helping with the pastoral calls. In her free time she enjoyed caring for her nieces and nephews. Survivors include her mother, Mary Johnson of Nashua; her father, Robert Tyer of Clear Lake; one brother, Dan (Judy) Tyer of Waverly; two sisters, Sue (Dan) Crandall of Oelwein, Deb (Kevin) Fitzgerald of Mason City; many nieces and nephews, a great-niece and great-nephews; two uncles, Merlyn (Carol) Turner of TX, Archie Ingersoll of Charles City. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Doyle Johnson
