Mary Jane Lodge was born April 3, 1939, in Waverly, IA, the daughter of George and Genevieve (Notton) Waidelich. She attended school in Nashua, and was a 1957 graduate of the Nashua High School. During school she enjoyed being a member of the marching band and playing her saxophone. Mary was introduced to Larry Lodge and the couple were married on June 29, 1957, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville, IA. To this union four children were born.

Mary enjoyed traveling to California to see her sister, Kathy, visiting with people, preparing a good home cooked meal to share with her family, and especially making delicious cookies for everyone. She loved time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren most of all.
