Marlowe R. Steege age 82 of Fredericksburg, IA, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at his home.
Private family interment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, IA.
Arrangements are with Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Fredericksburg.
Marlowe Ray Steege was born March 19, 1940, on the Steege Family Farm near Fredericksburg, the son of Laurence and Erna (Westendorf) Steege. he received his education in country school and was a 1958 graduate of the Fredericksburg High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1962. He gained a first class license in electronics and worked as a transmitter for the radio stations in Iowa City and Waverly. Marlowe continued farming from 1986 until the time of his death.
He was an active and charter member of the Northeast Iowa Antique Engine & Power Club and worked the annual show for many years. He was a member of the Chickasaw county Historical Society and volunteered many hours working at the museum.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry (Verla) Steege, Vern Steege, all of Fredericksburg; a sister, Carol (Mike) Wertz of Osage, IA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John.

We send our sincere condolences to the Steege family. Marlowe was the first President and charter member of the Northeast Iowa Antique Engine and Power Club. He spent much time on making the beginnings of the club a success. As it does today, by the hard work and fun the club members put toward the events it presents. It was 23 yrs. of fun and successes in 2022 by its members. Thank you Marlowe for your help.

Marlowe Steege will be missed and will always be in my life he has a adopted son Ray Stege.
So many memories of our cousin get- togethers over the years and the stories Marlowe liked to tell. Glad he was able to join us for our July get-together. Cousin Karen Annette
