Marilyn Jeanne Hoeft Scholle, age 92, of Charles City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. No formal services will be held at this time. Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton have been entrusted with arrangements. 641-394-4334 Marilyn was born on May 16, 1931 in Independence, Iowa, she was a beacon of love, kindness, and energy throughout her life. Marilyn was the beloved daughter of Kenneth Henline and Sarah Circus. She was raised in a warm household where she was instilled with the values of love and kindness that she carried throughout her life. She attended high school in Greene, Iowa, where she was a popular figure, known for her infectious enthusiasm and humor. She was first married to Earl Hoeft in 1954, then later finding love again after Earl's passing she was married to Don Scholle in 1983. In adulthood, Marilyn's work history was as diverse as her interests. She held several jobs over the years, including a stint as a computer programmer, showcasing her adaptability and willingness to learn. Her professional life was marked by hard work and dedication, but it was her community volunteering positions that truly encapsulated her spirit. She spent her whole live living between Greene and Charles City. Marilyn was always eager to lend a hand, to make her community a better place, proving that her heart was as big as her smile. Music was a lifelong passion for Marilyn. She loved all types of music, but had a particular fondness for Pink Floyd. Her appreciation for music was infectious, and she often shared her favorite songs with those around her. But her interests were not limited to music. Marilyn was an animal lover especially for her faithful dog Lola. She loved being outside, soaking up the sun, and exploring the beauty of nature. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious, and she had a knack for making even the simplest moments feel special. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all those who knew her. Her loving and spirited nature will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift. In her later years, Marilyn remained full of energy and humor. Her vivacity was undiminished by age, and she continued to live her life to the fullest. She was a beacon of positivity, always ready with a kind word or a funny joke. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence could light up a room. She was a woman of resilience, always bouncing back from life's challenges with a smile on her face and hope in her heart. Marilyn Jeanne Hoeft Scholle was a woman of many talents and passions. But above all, she was a woman of love and kindness. Her life was a testament to the power of positivity and the importance of community. Her spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She has left an indelible mark on this world, a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will never be forgotten. Marilyn is survived by her son Steven Hoeft of Charles City; step son Alan (Joyce) Scholle of Cedar Falls; daughter Barbi Hoeft of Charles City; step daughter Inda Scholle; grandchildren: Adam (Dichelle), Molly, Mae (Efren), Emily (Trent), Katy, Ethan, Ben, Tim (Megan) ; great-grandchildren: Rylee, Avery, Evan, Owen, Ezra, Arlo, Alex, Holden, and Sophie; great-great-grandchild Lyric; and faithful dog Lola. She is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth & Sarah (Circus) Henline; husbands Earl Hoeft & Don Scholle.
