Guestbook

  1. My sympathy to you all.I have great memories of visiting with Marie when I would come home and visiting Leonard’s Variety store. Buying candy, gifts for others like a half bunny for someone Easter present. Also I had some visits at your house Mike with her when we come for the Lawler get togethers. She will always be remembered. Prayers and thoughts for you all at this time. Marta Amoroso

  2. I will always remember Marie in the Variety store. She always had a smile for everyone who came in. Bought a lot of things there. I lived in lawler until I got married. Didnt see her too much but always greeted her and Chick in church. Will never forget her. My sympathy to the whole family. Joan{Pavlovec}Lentz

  3. I grew up one block from the Leonard family. Maureen was my BEST friend. Marie was a woman ahead of her time, just as my MOM, Gert Martin was. They were tough when they had to be, always there when we needed them, and always knew the security of their love. Marie was blessed in her later life because Maureen and Mike made her a part of their families, took care of her, met her needs, she lived with them and so all of them were blessed in many ways. Know that the Leonard family is in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

  4. My sympathy to the family of Marie Leonard. Marie was amazing! I will always remember Marie having the best penny candy counter in the world… and even had the little brown bags for 5 cents worth of candy. She and her side-kick, Sadie Knight would know every name of every child in town AND what saint that child dressed up as for All Saints Day in the Catholic school. She and Chick had the one stop service for weddings of the community. Marie handled the wedding/ shower presents and Chick gave the haircuts and sold wedding rings, insurance, and watches. If the couple was going to honeymoon and fish or hunt, Chick helped with that too. Who from Lawler will ever forget Marie or Chick and their ready smiles and kind hearts.

  5. My memories of Marie and Chick are of a couple that lived life for family and friends. I remember a smile on her face when she watched us all try and stay out of trouble. Our sympathy and prayers are with the family. Tom McBride

  6. Marie was an amazing lady! I have fond memories of her conducting her business at the store on Main St., always smiling, making jokes. My condolences to the family. maggie blazek kraft

  7. To Marie’s family. We were in Arizona for thanksgiving and will be in lawler by this Wednesday. You all have our sympathy.
