Malinda D. Mattke, age 94 of Fredericksburg, Iowa died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg with Pastor Ronnie Koch officiating. Jessica Wendland will be the organist leading the congregation singing, “Lift High The Cross”, “I Am Trusting you Lord Jesus” and “I Know My Redeemer Lives”. Pastor Koch will sing, “Jesus Lives! The Victory’s Won”.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg with David Mattke, Richard Mattke, Gary Stover, Michael Stover, Tyler Stover and Randy Nosbisch serving as casketbearers.
Friends may call 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the funeral at church on Wednesday.
Malinda Dorothea Mattke was born July 14, 1915, on the Kammeyer family farm near Fredericksburg, the daughter of Charles and Pauline (Groth) Kammeyer. She received her education in Dresden Township Country School and parochial school in Fredericksburg. Malinda was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was baptized by Pastor Duebert on August 15, 1915 and was confirmed by Pastor Otto Christian Durr on May 12, 1929.
On March 25, 1936, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, she married Glenn Mattke. To this union three children were born. Malinda and Glenn lived on their farm southeast of Fredericksburg where they raised their family and farmed together, sharing all the duties of being a farmer. The couple retired in 1973 and moved into Fredericksburg. Glenn died on July 28, 2003 at the age of 92. Malinda enjoyed gardening, needle-work and looked forward to time she was able to spend with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Lee) Stover of New Hampton; one son, Loren (Frances) Mattke of Fredericksburg; a daughter-in-law; Ruby Mattke of Sumner; one sister-in-law, Ethel Mattke of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Melvin Mattke; two brothers, Herman Kammeyer and one in infancy.

I visited with Melinda just about a year agoe when attending Eva Mae’s 9oth birthday celebration. It had been years since I had seen her. You have my sympathy. Hello to Ethel. Doris
