Lucille A. Moudry, age 91 of Protivin, IA, died Monday morning, December 1, 2008, at her home. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Protivin, with Rev. David Beckman celebrating the Mass. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, in Spillville, IA. Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the mass at church on Thursday. Hugeback’s Protivin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Lucille was born March 2, 1917, in rural Winneshiek County, IA, near Ft. Atkinson, the daughter of Joseph and Sophia (Hyke) Bohach. On August 26, 1935, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, she was married to Ben Moudry by Rev. J.P. Broz. To this union one son was born. Her husband Ben died on June 6, 1961. Lucille was employed at Buchheit Produce in Calmar, IA for 13 years and then at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah for another 17 years. She later retired into Protivin. In her free time she enjoyed flowers, gardening and crocheting. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Rosary Society. Survivors include one son, LuVerne (Hazel) Moudry of New Hampton; two grandsons, Allen (June) Moudry of Protivin, Kevin Moudry of Ossian, IA; three great-grandchildren, Brad (Amy) Moudry, Sarah (Al) Njus, Ben Moudry; four great-great-grandchildren, Breanna and Ty Moudry, Lydia and Elaina Njus; five step-grandchildren, Annette (Curt) Taylor of Lisbon, Iowa, Suzanne (Pat) Wall of Prior Lake, MN, Theresa Mihm of Colorado, David (Corey) Mihm of Breckenridge, CO, and Pam (Patrick) Gume of California; 12 step-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Cheryl Ann Moudry in 1967 and her brother and sister-in-law, Rudy and Ruth Bohach.
