Mavis and Family, I am saddened by the news of Pete’s passing. He was always such a fun loving guy, a great smile and a better laugh. I have many fond memories of farming out in Jerico, and Pete was always there to lend a hand, mostly when we were stuck up to and beyond the axels in mud! He always teased us about having the wrong color tractor! ‘Ya know why John Deere paint theirs Green, Benny? Cuz Green is for GO! Then he would laugh!!! That was in the late 70’s right before you got married and its look like you filled his last 30+ years with family and grandkids so good for all of you! He was a great guy! The Euchre tables are filling up in heaven! Take care and God Bless, Todd & Krista Halvorson

Please accept this condolence with the loss of your husband, Pete, from both of us. May the Lord protect him on his journey to Heaven. God bless you and the entire family.
Mavis, My deepest sympathy on the loss of Pete. Pete and I were team mates on New Hampton High School’s wrestling team. Also, though I did not know it until I read the obituary, we were in Korea at the same time and we were both in the U. S. Army’s Third Infantry Division, a great outfit. My wife, Kathryn, and I live near Akron, Ohio but I do keep in touch with northeast Iowa through the internet. I check the local obituaries regularly and that is how I learned of Pete’s passing. Kindest regards, Walt Johnson
Our sympathies to you Mavis and your family and to all the Hereid family. We are so very sorry we can not be there to give our support during this trying time but the dear Lord had different plans for us. My second eye surgery on Friday the 25th has stabilized us here at home and travel is not possible for me. Blessings to all…… Pat and Dale
