Lois L. Domke age 82 of Carlisle, IA, formerly of Fredericksburg died Sunday evening, December 19, 2010, at the Carlisle Care Center in Carlisle, Iowa. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg. Friends may greet the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Lois was born December 19th, 1928, in Sumner Iowa to Arthur and Elsie Aschbrenner. She married Dale Domke on December 19th, 1949. Dale and Lois spent most of their 50 years in the Fredericksburg area. Dale passed away in 2003. In 2007, Lois moved to Carlisle to be cared for by her daughter Connie and family. Lois loved being with family and friends. Being outdoors and loving nature was a passion of hers. Bird watching was great fun for her. Lois and Dale spent many enjoyable hours fishing on the Mississippi. She worked at Drape Hatchery in Fredericksburg, and helping Dale on the farm. During the early years of their marriage, Lois worked for Sumner Telephone Company as an operator. She will be missed by all who knew her. Lois is survived by her daughters, Connie Reese (David) of Carlisle, Debra Domke of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Domke of Louisville Ky, Sheryl Struthers (Neal) of West Union, and Diana Brandt (Robert ) of Bloomington Il; four grandchildren, Emily Shaffer (Rob) of Overland Park Ks, Jeffery Reese of Carlisle, and Tyler and Erin Brandt of Bloomington. Lois is also survived by brothers Milan Aschbrenner (Beverly) of Moneta Va and Ronald Aschbrenner (Shirley) of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale in 2003.
