Linell Marie Hesse age 49 of Charles City, formerly of Nashua, IA, died Wednesday, December 8, 2020, at her home following a lengthy illness.
A private family graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua on Friday, December 11, 2020.
There will be no public visitation.
Funeral arrangements are with Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory -- Olson Chapel in Nashua.
Linell Marie Hesse was born June 12, 1971, in Charles City, IA, the daughter of Leonard and Jane (Betsinger) Becker. She was the 4th generation raised on the Becker family farm 5 miles west of Nashua. Linell was the youngest of 3 until the family was surprised by twins making her the dreaded middle child. Believe us when we say she used that middle child status any time something didn’t go her way. She received her education in Nashua graduating in 1989.
Linell worked at Hardees for 7 years and Kmart in Charles City for 20 years.
Linell cherished spending time with her 6 kids. She loved to spoil her 5 granddaughters, making cookies, sock puppets, and playing restaurant with them. She was eagerly waiting the arrival of a new granddaughter coming in January. Linell was an avid tv watcher. She never missed an episode of General Hospital, Blue Bloods, or NCIS. Often kicking the kids out when it was time for one of her shows (or shushing them). Linell grew up in a card playing family and passed that tradition down to her children. There were many intense games of spades, Uno, spoons, and 31. She also enjoyed playing board games. Linell had an obsession with the digital games Hay Day and Candy Crush, getting members of the family addicted to them too.
Linell had fun dancing to country music with a Bud Light or cherry bomb in her hands. It didn’t matter where she was, if the music came on, she was getting her groove on.
Linell was proud of her collection of unicorns leaving hundreds of figurines for her kids to treasure.
Linell’s last few years were clouded with poor health but she faced them with hope and optimism that someday she would feel better. Unfortunately that was not the case. She spent the last few weeks with her family bravely facing the end of her life. She was at peace knowing she would be reunited with her mom and dad.
Survivors include her six children, Katlynd Hesse of Charles City, Spencer Hesse, Raven Hesse, both of Osage, Jacqsen Hesse, Ian Hesse and Darian Hesse, all of Charles City; step-daughter, Ariel Barber of Dubuque; five granddaughters, Jenna-Lynn Hesse, Marriah Hesse, Mercedes Hesse, Maycie Hesse, Amora Hesse; four siblings, Lonnie (Maryann) Becker of Woodbine, GA, LuAnn (Rob) Helmers of Rockwell, Karla (Andrew) Friedrich of Charles City, LeEllen (Bob) Sobolik of New Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Jane Becker

I’m so sorry for your loss. Linell was quite a good musician and I remember she was chosen to play in a few honor bands in HS. I remember running into her at the CC Kmart years ago. She always had a smile and kind words. My heart goes out to her family.
