Linda Kay was born July 27, 1945, in Oelwein Iowa, daughter of Alfred and Florence (Besler) Recker. She married the love of her life Jerry Linder on August 13, 1966, in Oelwein. Linda and Jerry have shared 47 wonderful years together.
Linda grew up on a farm in Arlington, IA graduated from Scared Heart Catholic High School in 1962 and went on to attend Upper Iowa University where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school in Sumner and Fredericksburg before joining Jerry in the family insurance business. She always said her favorite job was when she was able to stay home raising her four boys.
Linda and Jerry raised four sons, Mitchell (Kellie) of Okatie, SC; Matthew (Lynn) of West Des Moines; Mark (Emily) of Ankeny; and Michael (Stephanie) of Charleston, SC. She was also blessed with six grandchildren, Cody, Shelby, Riley, Addison, Mason, and Henry that she loved dearly.
She is survived by her three brothers, Larry (Mary), Lyle (Fran), and Dale (Judy), and sisters Mary Ann Ryan, Sharon Lee (John) Woods, and brother in-law Pete Reeser. Linda Kay was preceded in death by her parents (Alfred/Florence), sister Betty Lou, brothers Carl and Ernie, and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
Linda was an amazing person, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and a role model to all. She dearly loved her husband, four boys, and her precious grandchildren. She was an inspiration and touched so many people throughout her life. Even during her seven year battle with breast cancer, Linda always wanted to help and support others. She was famous for saying “If it wouldn’t be for this cancer, I would be in perfect health”.
She loved to spend time with family and friends, golfing, biking, playing cards, dancing to big band music, wintering in South Carolina, and Saturdays in the fall at Iowa Hawkeye Football games. Linda had a passion for people and life that was contagious and an embodiment of who she was as a person.
Linda was a charter member of St. Fredericks Catholic Church where she was a board member, Director of Religious Education, and CCD teacher for 25+ years. She loved to volunteer in the community and she was on Library Board, Dairy Day Board, Sesquicentennial Board, and numerous other state and local organizations.
Her love of life, people, and God was demonstrated everyday in her actions. She will be sorely missed, but leaves many fond memories and we will cherish forever.
Memorials may be directed to Friends of the Library, Iowa Hospice, Fredericksburg Community Education Foundation and other Local Organizations.

Thanks for your intriguing article. Other thing is that mesothelioma cancer is generally the result of the inhalation of materials from mesothelioma, which is a very toxic material. It really is commonly observed among staff in the building industry that have long exposure to asbestos. It’s also caused by residing in asbestos protected buildings for years of time, Your age plays a huge role, and some persons are more vulnerable on the risk compared to others.
