Lillian was born February 2, 1939 at her Aunt Lillian Fisher’s home in rural Chickasaw County to Neal Clifford Jones and Mary Lillian (Rodamaker) Jones. Lillian was known as Jan to her family and friends. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1947 and worked as a caregiver at the Floyd County Home until she married Rodney George Joslin Jr. on September 12, 1964 at the Faith Bible Chapel in Charles City, Iowa. From start to finish, Jan’s life revolved around helping others. Everyone who had the privilege to know her all have said that she was the least selfish person they had ever known, and no one had a bigger heart. Throughout her life Jan’s love of family and its history is evident in the geneology work that she did for many years. The roots of where her family began and its growth was something Jan treasured and she showed the same love to everyone. Though she will be missed by all, her life is one her family and friends will celebrate forever. She will be missed by her remaining relatives including her husband, Rodney G. Joslin of Charles City; one brother, Thomas (Sandra) Clyde Jones of NV; nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Jones) Roby, Scott Jones. Robin (Jones) Lamy, Michael (Casey) and Brett Jones; many cousins who considered her their aunt, Rosena (Wells) Beatty, Robert Beatty, Justin, Robert, Aron, Lillee Beatty, Rachelle (Wells) Bobenmoyer, Cheri Fisher Welter, Rhonda Fisher Rosol, Tim Fisher and many other great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Lillian was preceded in death by her grandparents Jacob Leslie Jones and Araminta Charlotta (Carter) Jones and Myron Henry Rodamaker and Clara Eugenia (Wiltse) Rodamaker and her parents, Neal Clifford Jones and Mary Lillian (Rodamaker) Jones, siblings, Alice Wilhemine (Jones) Deyo, Theran Stuart, and James Kyle Jones.

  1. I will always remember our trips to Clinton to see Aunt Jan. I can still see her gripping the steering with both hands and a cigarette hanging from her lips. I will also never forget what she said to me at my Dad’s funeral and only then did I realize that we had a lot in common.

  2. Rosena, Robert & family -So sorry to hear of the loss of your ‘Aunt’ Jan. She was a very nice person. I am sure she will be keeping an eye on you all. Rose & Bob
