Leslie Michelle Westendorf was born April 24, 1956, in Austin, MN, the daughter of Vergil Sr. and Carrie (Salsbury) Wibben. She attended Neveln Elementary School, Ellis Junior High, and Austin High School all in Austin, MN. Leslie met the love of her life, Randy Westendorf, while she was working at a truck stop in Austin. They were married on June 14, 1980, at the Methodist Church in West Union. The couple lived in the Fredericksburg area before building a house in 1982 where they lived out the rest of their time together. Leslie loved to fish. She had many enjoyable memories on the water searching for that big catch with her husband, brothers and many other friends and family. She always seemed to be the one who caught the most fish, and she didn’t mind letting her fishing mates know about it. Along with fishing, Leslie enjoyed crocheting and playing board games. She also spent time working at Pronto and cooking at the Sunrise Guest Home. She will be remembered for having the biggest heart, always worrying about others before herself and being there to lend a helping hand. Leslie is survived by her husband, Randy Westendorf of Fredericksburg, IA; step-father Gene Tindal of Brownsdale, MN; three brothers, Vergil Wibben Jr of Robbinsdale, MN, Randy (Sue) Tindal of Brownsdale, MN, Marty (Susan) Wibben of Becida, MN; brother-in-law Craig (Sherry) Westendorf of Fredericksburg, IA; sister-in-law Gayle Mashek of Fredericksburg, IA; one step-daughter Christe Yennie of Rochester, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
