  4. Dear Family, Leroy will be missed greatly. I spoke with Nate about his grandfather the other day. This was not the first, tenth, or hundreth time Nate spoke of him. Nate has shared many stories about him with me over the years however he made a statement that has been echoing in my mind since. ‘He was a good man!’ Now this was not said half heartily, there was emphasis on ‘good.’ I think of my life, will that be said of me? Leroy left a legacy of how to be a ‘good’ man. His family is his mark he left behind. He taught them how to do it. I marvel at the ‘good’ man I know Nate to be. I feel I can honestly say that about Nate for all the years we have know each other. I trust him above all friends, value his brilliant mind, cherish his sense of humor, and appreciate his strength when the times have been tough. He posesses some of the greatest of qualities I have ever seen in a man and no doubt he has been shaped by a ‘good’ man. Thank you Nate for being who you are and standing for what you do! I remember countless times when his son Steve would drive all over the countryside to pick up kids to ride in the dusty bed of a tan ford pickup. It was Sunday afternoon and there was baseball or football to play. How many of us have spent that kind of selfless time devoted to our kids? He displayed that selfless love for his kids over and over and over…he is a ‘good’ man. Leroy was described by Nate as selfless. What an awesome way to be remembered! Will you be remembered as selfless? I pray I will. My heart aches for your loss but am so thankful to call many of you friends and can title you as ‘Good’. Take joy in knowing who you are and where you’re from and the legacy YOU will leave! God Bless, Greg Richards
